Job Description
We are looking for a Financial Aid Assistant to join our team.
This position will serve as a Financial Aid Assistant, providing information and assistance for potential and existing students. Work closely with the Director of Financial Aid with a special emphasis on compliance with federal regulations, school policy, and customer service to the students.
- Meet with and assist potential and existing students to ensure funding is secured for the program of enrollment
- Working closely with the Director of Financial to ensure the information provided to students is in compliance with Federal, State and college rules and regulations
- Assist the Director of Financial Aid and the Financial Aid Administrator to meet campus objectives and goals
- Assist the Director of Financial Aid and the Financial Aid Administrator to prepare reports, as necessary
- Follow up with students to collect pending documents or schedule appointments for the Director of Financial Aid and the Financial Aid Administrator, as necessary
- Assist with creating of funding plans, submitting of cash plan request, packaging Pre-Requisite Programs or other cash programs, verifying non- Title IV loan approval/denials and uploading documents
- Other duties as assigned
Pay starting at $19/hr
9am-6pm PST
Qualifications
- High School Degree or GED is required
- Associate degree or above in related fields of accounting, finance, business, administrations, etc. is preferred
- Prior related work experience is a plus but not required
- Understanding of current Title IV, federal and state regulations regarding Financial Aid & strong Customer Service skills
- Ability to effectively communicate sensitive financial information to prospective and current customers in an understandable manner
- Availability at a minimum of two evenings per week for evening student population and overtime as requested by supervisor – may include: evenings, weekends and/or holidays
- Prior related work experience is a plus but not required
