The Role
As a Senior Product Designer at ZayZoon, you will shape the user experience of our HR tech products for SMBs (Small to Medium-sized Businesses) through intuitive, user-centered designs. As one of the leads on an empowered Product and Engineering pod, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, lead design initiatives, conduct user research, and contribute to our design system. This role drives innovation, ensures end-to-end, holistic product usability, and aligns with our company's strategic goals.
\n- Lead reactive day-to-day design projects and proactive design initiatives from concept to completion, serving SMBs in the HR Tech landscape.
- Conduct end-user research and usability testing with busy ZayZoon SMBs, dig in on analytics, and other qualitative and quantitative methods, managing those projects independently.
- Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain a cohesive design system.
- Mentor junior designers.
- Aid in the development of organizational design maturity and Product team maturity.
- Define and track KPIs for design projects, calculating the ROI of design’s impact.
- Proactively identify problems and opportunities for innovation.
- Execute on roadmap and strategy with limited oversight.
- Strong understanding of design principles and accessibility.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to identify and propose problems, opportunities, and solutions.
- Ability to work reactively, integrated into an empowered team, and proactively, feeding that team new research insights and engaging stakeholders and teammates in new initiatives you propose.
- Bachelor’s degree in Design, Visual Communication, HCI, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in product design with a strong portfolio of achieved and measured outcomes.
- Experience with creating and maintaining a design system with proficiency in design tools like Figma.
- Experience working in a B2B setting.
- Experience with user research methodologies, analytics, and data-driven design.
- A proven track record of mentoring junior team members.
- Strong change management skills.
- Experience in design ops, product ops, or overall raising of organizational design maturity.
- Experience with HR tech for SMBs will be seen as a big advantage.
- Experience with payroll systems or financial services is a plus.
- Proven ability to lead and manage large, cross-functional design projects.
