Your new role
The Vice President of Marketing, Enterprise Segment plays a pivotal role in driving growth and market leadership for Digital Science within the enterprise segment including life sciences, automotive, technology, chemical and financial services sectors. Working closely with the EVP of the Enterprise Segment, the VP of Marketing, Enterprise Segment is responsible for developing targeted marketing strategies and leading initiatives for this market sector that align with the company’s overall business objectives. Leveraging industry expertise, particularly in life sciences, the VP of Marketing, Enterprise Segment will identify key market trends faced by target personas and will position Digital Science and its solutions for increased visibility and market share in the target sectors. This role includes managing a dedicated marketing team, overseeing marketing budget and campaigns, and refining strategies based on data-driven insights to ensure continuous growth and engagement.

What you’ll be doing

Segment Marketing Strategy:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing strategy for the enterprise segment, focusing on market positioning, competitive analysis, and customer segmentation.
- Identify key market trends and opportunities to tailor marketing content and programs to drive growth and market share expansion.

Collaboration for Sales Success:
- Partner with Sales and Revenue Operations teams to ensure alignment with growth strategies and deliver tailored marketing programs that address the unique needs of the pharma and life sciences markets.
- Collaborate closely with Product Management, Customer Success teams and other departments to ensure alignment and support for segment-specific initiatives, ensuring clear communication and execution.

Leadership and Execution:
- Lead and manage a dedicated marketing team to execute segment-specific marketing plans and achieve defined goals.
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track the success of marketing campaigns, using performance data to refine strategies and optimize results.

Content Development and Messaging:
- Work with EVP Enterprise segment as well as product leaders to translate product capabilities into outcome-oriented messaging used in sales, awareness, and demand generation.
- Serve as the subject matter expert within marketing on life science supply chains, supporting sales by creating and repurposing content for life science-specific sales discussions.

Industry Leadership and Partnerships:
- Partner with sales and industry leaders to develop outcome-oriented messaging and content that highlights the company’s value in pharmaceutical, biotech, and related industries.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across sales, product, and marketing teams to identify opportunities to partner with influential consultancies, resellers and third parties to drive life sciences-specific programs and promotions that enhance engagement and build market leadership.

Competitive Analysis and Positioning:
- Evaluate opportunities to gain market share and outperform competitors by contributing to and leveraging our competitive intelligence program, adapting anecdotal feedback from the sales and consulting teams to inform our understanding of the competition, and partner with internal teams to refine positioning as needed.
- Leverage industry insights to continuously adapt the marketing strategy to enable DS to remain competitive as a trusted partner to clients in the life sciences and pharmaceutical industries.

Event and Program Management:
- Working with a dedicated events team, guide the selection and planning of key industry events, webinars, and sponsorship activities.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to create content (e.g., case studies, white papers, presentations) that resonates with the life sciences and pharma audience, and work with marketing colleagues to promote content creatively via paid and organic campaigns

Travel:
- Participate in domestic and international travel (6+ trips per year) to attend internal DS meetings and to support industry events, client meetings, and other marketing initiatives.
What you’ll bring to the role

Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.

Experience:
- 15+ years experience in marketing, with 5+ years specific experience with pharma/life sciences market challenges, motivations, and opportunities.

Skills and Competencies:
- Proven track record of developing and executing innovative marketing campaigns within the pharmaceutical or life sciences industries.
- Strong understanding of medical affairs, including regulatory requirements, clinical trials, and scientific communication.
- Inquisitive and creative marketing abilities with excellent persuasive writing skills.
- Hands-on experience with Salesforce, Pardot, Asana or other project management tools, data tools, and account-based marketing (ABM) platforms, and practical experience using AI tools to streamline marketing workflows
- Strong collaborative skills and the ability to thrive in a cross-functional team environment.
- Self-starter with a “roll up your sleeves” attitude toward problem-solving and project management.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, multi-product environment with lots of project opportunities.
- Fun, innovative, and enthusiastic about tackling new challenges in a dynamic industry.
- An interest in supporting and mentoring colleagues at earlier stages in their career or with limited experience in the segment
