About the Role:
The Human Resources Compliance Administrator, reporting to the Senior Director of Human Resource, is responsible for monitoring Expressable compliance with employment laws and regulations in all jurisdictions; auditing and correcting HR data; completing compliance activities including but not limited to non-discrimination testing of benefits plans, EEOC reporting, and ACA filing; analyzing hourly time reporting, and providing emergency backup for payroll preparation.
We are seeking an HR Compliance Administrator with strong attention to detail, risk management, and research skills to join our growing HR team. We are highly collaborative and actively cross-train one another to provide excellent internal customer service to Expressable's employees. The ideal candidate will have experience with multi-state jurisdictions including California and hold themselves and others to a high ethical standard.
The ability to work standard business hours Monday to Friday in the Pacific or Mountain time zones is preferred.

\n- Ensure annual compliance reporting such as EEOC, ACA, benefits NDT, etc. is completed accurately within mandatory deadlines.
- Review Employee Handbook quarterly to make sure it is revised regularly in accordance with changes in laws and regulations.
- Monitor completion of employee compliance training such as harassment prevention, Fraud Waste, & Abuse, HIPAA, etc.
- Review hourly timesheets weekly to analyze if potential under and over reporting has occurred and ensure any OT is accounted for; communicating timekeeping deviations to management and assisting with interventions.
- Routinely audit HR data to ensure integrity and compliance including but not limited to minimum salary thresholds, employee residency, and benefits eligibility.
- Support the People Ops Specialist's leave management by ensuring FMLA and other types of leave comply with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
- Assist with investigation of work-related incidents and the ADA request for accommodation interactive process.
- Cross train to prepare and process payroll runs in the People Ops Specialist's absence (anticipated to be a rare emergency occurrence).
- Remain current with major changes in employment law and regulations.
- NOTE: The ideal candidate’s years of experience is less important than the type of HR experience, the depth and scope of knowledge, and demonstration of key competencies. Below are the types of experience we feel important to include in and/or add to our internal HR team at this time.
- GENERAL: Human Resources experience in a variety of industries or a healthcare specialization.
- COMPLIANCE AND RISK MANAGEMENT: Demonstrable HR focus on compliance and risk management. California experience is a strong plus. Essential knowledge of federal employment laws. Proficiency with navigating multi-state employment jurisdictions.
- COMPUTER SKILLS: Competency in office productivity and connectivity tools such as Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Slack, and Zoom. Adept at using standard HRIS tools and be familiar with payroll processing systems. Experience with Airtable is a plus.
- REMOTE SUITABILITY: Ability to collaborate with a geographically-distributed team and reliable internet connectivity.

Prevents irrelevant issues or distractions from interfering with work completion.
